In the Archdiocese of Toronto, we, the Holy Cross Fathers, are blessed to have three Parishes – St. Ann, St. Joseph, and Holy Name – at the east side of downtown, Toronto. These three Parishes are near to each other. Holy Name Parish is in the busy Greek neighborhood of Toronto (Pape and Danforth). The Holy Cross Fathers have been serving at Holy Name Parish since 2005. Holy Name parish is home to a vibrant English-speaking Catholic community and a lively African Catholic community. Holy name is blessed to have one school, Holy Name Catholic School.
After 12 years of my ministry at St. Kevin Parish in Welland, ON, I began my ministry at Holy Name in August 2022. Though, the community is smaller than my previous Parish community, Holy Name is a vibrant community with a lot of young families that regularly and actively participate in our liturgical celebrations.
I am blessed to be part of this community to journey with the faithful of the parish both in their joys and challenges. Along with a wonderful group of volunteers from the parish, we strive to be a welcoming community of faith, offering spiritual guidance and support to our parishioners and the people in the neighborhood. We are blessed to have beautiful liturgies that are active, participatory, and uplifting. The various ministries of the Parish enable us to love and serve, as Jesus commanded us to do.
