Fraternité dans la Congrégation de Sainte-Croix
Un religieux frère est un homme simple, humble, un priant, un ami, un enseignant, un guide, un conseiller, un musicien, un sportif…. Ce n’est pas un prêtre. Il demeure religieux frère toute sa vie. Un homme quitte sa petite famille pour rejoindre une grande famille, par exemple la Congrégation de Sainte-Croix. Quand je suis entré dans la Congrégation, j’ai été touché par les activités des frères et leurs qualités de vie. Leur ministère est la prière et le ministère apostolique. Ils prient, travaillent ensemble dans différents lieux d’apostolat, mangent ensemble à la même table et s’amusent ensemble dans la maison. Ils vivent comme une famille. J’ai vu que les frères respectent leurs aînés et aiment sincèrement leurs jeunes confrères. De plus, ils sont responsables les uns envers les autres. Dans la communauté, ils se soutiennent mutuellement pour grandir spirituellement, intellectuellement et émotionnellement. Ils peuvent se mêler très facilement aux autres et avoir des relations personnelles équilibrées et une bonne compréhension de leurs frères. Ils acceptent et apprécient les autres frères tels qu’ils sont. En tant que frère, ils vivent, marchent et travaillent côte à côte pour prêcher la Bonne Nouvelle au peuple. Nous, frères, partageons la mission de Jésus: révéler l’amour de son Père, partager ses enseignements avec les gens, annoncer la Bonne Nouvelle aux plus pauvres des pauvres, la liberté aux opprimés et la guérison aux affligés. Ils s’entraident pour construire une communauté heureuse et priante.
Dieu appelle chacun de nous de différentes manières à réaliser ses plans dans ce monde. C’est pourquoi, nous les religieux de Sainte-Croix, nous aidons les jeunes gens à comprendre l’appel de Dieu dans leur vie. Nous croyons en la Providence divine et abandonnons nos vies entre les mains de Dieu. Nous vivons ensemble dans un appel à la sainteté, en tant que communauté et vie interculturelle, en approfondissant notre réponse à l’appel de Dieu.

The brotherliness in the Congregation of Holy Cross
A religious Brother is a brother, a simple and humble man, a prayerful person, a friend, a teacher, a guide, a counselor, a musician, a sportsman…. He is not a priest. He remains a religious Brother for his whole life. A man leaves his small family to join with a big family, for example means the Congregation of Holy Cross. When I joined the Congregation, I was touched by the brothers’ activities and their good qualities of life. Their ministry is praying and apostolic ministry. They pray together at the different hours of the day, work together as community in different places the different peoples, eat together at the same table, and have fun together in the house. They live like family. I have seen that brothers respect their elders and love their younger confreres sincerely. As well they are accountable to one another. In the community they support each other to grow spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally. They can mingle with others very easily and have balanced personal relationships and good understanding with their brothers. They accept and appreciate the other brothers as they are. As a brother they live, walk, and work side by side to preach the Good news to the people. We brothers share in the mission of Jesus to reveal his Father’s love share his teachings with people, proclaim the Good News to the poorest of the poor, freedom to the oppressed and healing to the afflicted. They help each other to build a happy and prayerful community.
God calls each one of us in different ways to fulfil his plans in this world. That is why, we the Holy Cross religious help the young men to understand God’s call in their life. We believe in Divine Providence and surrender our lives into the hands of God. We live together in a call to holiness, as a community and intercultural living, by deepening our following of God’s call.
